Southwest Power Pool - SPP - SPP is a Regional Transmission Organization, mandated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to ensure reliable supplies of power, adequate transmission infrastructure, and competitive wholesale prices of electricity. As a North American Electric Reliability Corporation Regional Entity, SPP oversees enforcement and development of reliability standards. SPP has members in nine states. Mr. Altenbaumer retired in 2004 as President of Illinois Power, an electric and natural gas delivery company, and Executive Vice President of Regulated Energy Delivery at Dynegy, Inc. Before retirement, Mr. Altenbaumer provided business advisory and consulting services to several organizations in and outside of the energy industry. Mr. Altenbaumer joined Illinois Power in 1970 and his career there spanned nearly thirty-four years. Currently, Mr. Altenbaumer serves as an Advisory Board Member of lEI Financial Services and is Fund Manager of InDecatur Ventures, LLC, a venture capital investment organization.

Julian Brix has a long history in the electric utility industry, including serving as President, CEO, and COO of Georgia Transmission Corporation; General Manager of Cooperative Power in Minnesota; and General Manager of Central Electric Power Cooperative in Missouri. Most recently, Mr. Brix served as executive consultant for Brix International, an independent consulting company. In this role, he assisted clients in the development of merchant transmission projects and in the evaluation of transmission systems to accommodate generation acquisitions. Additionally, Mr. Brix served as Board Member and Co-chairman forTRANSlink Management Development Corporation, a FERC-approved independent transmission company.

2010-06-06-08 MARC Regional Conference - Kansas City - Nick Brown President and CEO Southwest Power Pool (SPP) Nick Brown was elected President and CEO of SPP in 2003. Prior to this position Mr. Brown served SPP members as Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary from 1999-2003; Vice President and Corporate Secretary from 1998-1999; Director, Engineering and Operations from 1993-96; Manager, Engineering Services from 1989-1993; and in several engineering positions since joining the SPP staff in 1985. Mr. Brown began his career as a planning engineer at Southwestern Electric Power Company. A registered Professional Engineer and Master Electrician, Nick is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu engineering honor societies, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.

As Vice-President of Process Integrity and Chief Administrative Officer, Michael Desselle is responsible for developing, tracking, reporting, and training on SPP's processes/procedures/ controls. Mr. Desselle has over 24 years of experience in the energy industry. He began his career as a planning analyst for Cajun Electric Power Cooperative. From 1985-1992, while at Price Waterhouse, Mr. Desselle managed and performed utility regulatory, financial, and general consulting for clients in the gas, electric, water, and wastewater industries. He joined Central and South West Services in 1992 and was responsible for supporting corporate initiatives, strategies, and positions. Mr. Desselle joined SPP in 2006.

As Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary, Stacy Duckett is responsible for corporate affairs, staff secretary duties for the Board of Directors, and non-regulatory legal matters. Ms. Duckett began her work at SPP as an attorney in the transmission and regulatory policy group, quickly assumed project management responsibilities, and was named Director, Corporate Affairs prior to serving in her current position. Before joining SPP in 2000, Ms. Duckett served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for TCBY Enterprises, Inc. In her 14 years with the company, her areas of responsibility included corporate law, communications, marketing, and administration.

Jim Eckelberger is a supply chain expert and change manager. Most recently he worked for Huttig Building Products, where he focused on cutting costs and improving pricing processes. Prior to Huttig, Mr. Eckelberger was CEO of netMercury, a company providing supply chain services in the semiconductor industry. Previously, Mr. Eckelberger was Vice President of Global Integrated Logistics Operations Supply Chain Management for Compaq Computer Co. Since leaving the u.s. Navy in 1991, Mr. Eckelberger has served as Vice President of Logistics at Dal-Tile, BJ's Wholesale Club, and Pace Membership Warehouse. For over 30 years he served as a naval logistician, rising to rank of Rear Admiral and senior aviation logistician in the Navy.

Josh Martin is a partner in the Potter Anderson & Corroon law firm's Business Practices Group, which focuses on telecommunications and public utility issues. Prior to joining Potter Anderson & Corroon, Mr. Martin served as President ofVerizon Delaware, Inc. Mr. Martin first joined Verizon as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in 1990. Previously, Mr. Martin was a Delaware Superior Court Judge for eight years. He served on the Delaware Public Service Commission from 1978 to 1982, including three years as Chairman. Mr. Martin began his professional career as a Physicist at DuPont Company in 1966. Mr. Martin is a leader in education as well as professional and community organizations ..

As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Monroe is responsible for 24x7 operations in four areas: reliability coordination of the transmission system in the SPP footprint, minute-by-minute provision of transmission service, scheduling of transmission service, and operation of a real-time energy market. Mr. Monroe is also responsible for planning and engineering for short-term transmission service, information technology, and market development and design. Prior to joining SPP in 1997, Mr. Monroe served with Entergy of New Orleans in various positions including Manager of Forecasting and Manager of EMS Advanced Applications. Prior to joining Entergy, Mr. Monroe worked as an engineer in the system operations department at Union Electric Company.

Harry Skilton most recently served as President and CEO of American Meter Company, which manufactures and markets metering and regulation equipment and systems for gas distribution companies. Mr. Skilton has over 25 years of senior executive and general management experience in Fortune 500 manufacturing companies. Specific industry experience in engineered products includes building components, material handling equipment/systems, and electronic!computer components. He began his business career in financial management with Celanese Corporation becoming its Corporate Vice President and Treasurer.

"Paul is well-known in SPP circles due to his previous roles as Chair of the Arkansas Public Service Commission and service on SPP’s Regional State Committee, both since 2007. Prior to joining the Commission, Paul served as City Attorney of North Little Rock, AR, dealing with a variety of utility issues for the state’s largest municipal utility. Paul serves our country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Arkansas Army National Guard and is a veteran of both the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
